I heard there was a fairly large affair over on Jamestown Road over the weekend, and at least 2 IHL members were in attendance. It was an impromptu celebration of the beginning of the end of the SACS Probation situation.
No doubt the party's timing was also tied to Bassmaster U and the 100 big-a$$ pickups that surrounded Joseph Green Hall weekend. Of particular note was the Humvee that took up three spaces in a parking lot! After a hard day of fishin' tips, select bubbas were surely invited over to the president's house for refreshments and assurances that "them perfessers are larnin' who's boss," which they then parrotted back to any IHL members who might have been present.
I know a couple of very respectable older ladies who, when they were much younger, used to dress up and drop in on wedding parties of people they had never met. They figured if the bride's family didn't recognize them they would be assumed to be friends of the groom, and vice versa.
I bet those girls, or others like them, could have a great time at one of Shelboo's parties. "Hi, I don't think we've met. I'm an old friend of Bubba. He might not remember me; it's been a very long time."
Well, maybe it wouldn't be so easy to crash a party on Jamestown Road, but it sure would be fun to know what REALLY goes on there. Or would it?
