Before Kenbot got distracted with selling Economic Development degrees, terrorizing Gulf Park, undermining shared governance, and now running Continuing Education, filling the technology park was to be his first priority.

And who would have believed several years ago, prior to a la the Great "Odd" ("I know, I've been called a Gnome"), that Van Hook (where I discovered a delightful new handicap) would turn into something industrial. VH was one of the greatest gifts a university could give to those of us who loved to teach, golf, and/or admire the aesthetics. To ruin it by trading it for its polar opposite is deplorable. Obviously some rumors will not come to fruition, but, at this point, I'd believe almost anything that comes out of the current administration. If we are spreading complete rumors however, I'd caution everyone about giving the SFT clan "ideas" for the future.
Now that Shelby thinks SACS is under control, it looks like CoB is back on the table. The big question is how long does it take to negotiate such a divesture?
I still don't get what USM gains by divesting COB...other than Shelby gets rid of the one dean with tenure who is trying to maintain the semblance of standards...so give it all away? Or is maintaining AACSB too expensive for USM, and too restrictive? There are other accrediting agencies for business schools, one's with a teaching focus. This seems even dumber than usual. IF USM is all about bidness, then why get rid of bidness?
