Chapter 6 excerpt....


....., and since the point Thames' candidacy for the presidency was born, he had been spending considerable time in Nicholson's office near the USM campus.  It seemed the local accountant had a direct line to Thames, and many wondered just what his substantial interest in the polymer scientist's rise to the presidency stemmed from.  One thought that came to mind early on was the age-old conspiracy, given that Nicholson was a State alum.  What only become clearer much later were other motivations, such as the employment of Nicholson friends and associates within the university.....

Is this an excerpt from "Exit 65", the long-rumored update to Monte Piliawsky's "Exit 13"?


Note for non-USM folks:  The former "Exit 13" signs for Hardy Street on I-59 are now "Exit 65" -- mile markers replaced the former Interstate Highway numbering system

Let us hope, for the sake of our alumni, that it will not be necessary to erect a historical marker at that site - commemorating a fine public institution which was devastated in 2005 through IHL neglect.

I do sincerely hope that Monte Piliawsky, or someone of competence, is writing an Exit 65 sequel to Exit 13.

Many versions from many perspectives will end up being published. My decision right now is what agent to use. Others should take advantage of this unbelievable story. There are some of us who can also collaborate. It is a story that can be written for those in academia, but it is also a story for the general public - such as taxpayers and parents who give to this corrupt system.
