Hey folks:

no need to worry about "bemused" it is only TH's bimbo wife throwing a temper fit. Vic's role at UVH is merely for a hand out. TH's castle in France cost us all alot of money especially raises.

LVN, there is much wisdom in your comments. Why do we continue to expend time and energy chasing after Tim Hudson? I could better understand it if the IHL had proposed bringing him back as USM president, but they haven't, have they? Even if they had, I daresay he'd be an improvement over the Thames dictatorship, albeit marginally so.

On an earlier thread, there was a mention of two other USM employees following TH to Texas. Who are the other two? Any thoughts?

Did Holly Hudson Buckner leave USM? Isn't, or wasn't Hannah just an undergrad student? I didn't understand the earlier comment about Tim's "bimbo wife." Surely she isn't a total bimbo, with a USM Ph.D., or was her terminal degree "earned" via one of the infamous special degree programs? I don't know her, but am curious about the basis of the comment.

I guess I'm sharing in the general grouchiness. Here's a short list of things I do not care about:

1. What Tim Hudson does in Texas. (Mississippi is another matter.)
2. Jonathan Krebs until he does something that is objectionable and affects us.
3. Hot dogs
4. Victor Padelford, of whom I had never heard before this.
5. People's hair choices, personal appearance., and the whereabouts of their children, with one notable exception.

Feel free to add to the list.

I should add that I do care about people being called bimbos. It's such an ugly, sexist and unkind thing to call anyone except Anna Nicole, who doesn't mind a bit.

I swear, some of you people are sorry, misinformed, rude individuals.

For the record, Hannah White is a student at USM and Holly Buckner is still an employee of USM. Both have husbands, children and lives here that they have no intention of leavig to follow their father. And I am pretty sure that DD Hudson earned her PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences after earning her Master's from the University of Tennessee - hardly a bimbo.

Before you start making assumptions you should check your facts.

Dear appalled, if you will notice, the ugly remark about Mrs. Hudson was made by ONE person, and was objected to vehemently. "You people" is a bit strong. Most of us are not into name-calling, especially where spouses and children are involved. Since many of the posters are academic women, rest assured we do not countenance such remarks.

I have been out of town for a week and am just now reading this thread. Is this a serious thread posted by a group of academics or is this a high school gossip session? Do you really think that Hudson's wife is a bimbo and his kids can't think for themselves and have to run after their father? Kudos to those who have been offended and shame on you to those who have engaged in this trash.

A faculty friend just phoned me to tell me to check out the message board. After reading all the post, needless to say I was surprised and angered. Why does anyone care if Hudson owns a house in Victoria or not? Why would anyone think he would come back to USM? And why would they really care when there are so many other issues going on at USM that need attention? For the record, I am not leaving my job to go to Victoria. And my sister, who is NOT an employee of USM and is applying to graduate schools would have no reason to go there either. Not that it should be of any importance to anyone. And to call DeeDee a bimbo is just tacky and completely false. Thank you to those who have said so.

In the future, it would be more appropriate to concentrate on issues that might help restore integrity to the university that we all love.

Anyone think a response or apology should be made to Holly? I do think this thread got a bit out of hand, and involved people who have nothing to do with the Thames reign of terror. I'm not making a specific suggestion, only posing the question.

I should have added that Markeda has an undergrad degree from USM, and is either completing, or has completed, her M.A. in literature. She's served as a tutor in the writing center, and as a university proofreader. She's also a very smart, very nice lady who exemplifies the very best of USM. Again, what does her trip to Texas have to do with anything?

I do not speak ill of Markeda Wade. In fact, My friends in the AD say she is very good at what she does and I've been told she is very capable. I was simply answering the question about which two Hudson friends will be moving to Victoria.

The fact she has in interview there next week would lead one to believe she is one of the two.
