That's MR. Whipple, buster. I have no inside track on Don Cotten's present feelings concerning the USM presidency, but he's reportedly enjoying a stress-free retirement, and still a bit miffed at having been snubbed by the IHL in 2002. I daresay he may not feel too sanguine about helping dig the IHL out of their monumental screwup--chosing Thames. However, I don't pretend to speak for him. He may have entirely different thoughts on the matter.
Sorry for the slight there Whipple Snapper. Sorry....Mr. Whipple Snapper. Just didn't know where Ol' Don Cotten stood on the subject. Thought maybe you had some insight.
Could anyone give an update on Dr. Cotten's current situation, i.e., where does he live and what is he doing? Last I heard, he was up at Arkansas State, but a google search and a little digging makes me think he may have moved on in late 2003 or early 2004.
i talked to don at Lowe's about 3 months ago. he said he was retired--said it was something he should have done 2 years ago. was doing some consulting work. don't know where he is now.

That's a good 'un. Thanks for the chuckle. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go forth and sell some TP. I understand the executive washrooms at the IHL are going through paper at a record-setting pace. Not surprising when you consider how many of the board members are full of.......
Actually Cotten would not be accepted. He was part of the inside group that helped Thames and the car dealers unseat Fleming. Cotten really expected to be named pres, but Thames cut him off at the pass. It was messy and there were some threats and that's why Cotten moved on. In short, he alienated all the power blocs. No way they will accept him.
