Mr. John, nothing in your posted referred to Dr. Do Little. Your post was about computer security and little silver tags. Our question is why post your warning on this particular innocuous thread?
Thank you for the definition Webster. By the way, I loved you on that show you did with Alex Karras. I wasn't asking what it meant. I was just wondering why Professor Deep Pockets had to resort to name calling.
More witty comments...you people seem to be full of them. Or full of something?
Something has to be said for people who sit and monitor a forum all day. We could be doing something productive, myself included, like trying to get old SFT kicked out to the curb.

Maybe I know something you don't, or maybe I'm just some dumb shumck trying to be an alarmist. I was adding something to this conversation. I hate using quotes because it seems pointless to keep repeating the same damn quote over and over.
As to your question about this Thread, why not? What did it hurt? Would you like me to create a separate thread that just talked about computer issues.

I posted it on this thread because they are watching you. They are watching all of you and you should be afraid, really afraid......not really.
I posted on this thread because I just felt like adding my two cents. I thought it went along well with Dr. Do Little's statement. Because I ddin't quote the good doctor like some dumb yuppie, doesn't mean I was just randomly posting. What's wrong with my posting on this thread? YOu people have very little to say that's worth repeating.

So. It appears that we might have two trolls all balled up in one: Dr. Do and Mr. Don't.

Pay him (her?) no mind Mr. Dohee. Those who express contrarian views here are often labeled trolls. Your point concerning the lack of privacy when using company/university owned computers was legitimate. Whether it was heard is another matter.
I agree Seeker's RM. There is a reason why we have two ears and one mouth. The very people blasting my posts are likely the ones sitting in their office posting on this forum.

That was old news as of last April and the source of great controversy. Faculty members have, by and large, quit using campus computers or phones for anything sensitive. Others have just quit.

That's a bold statement and I would imagine it's also a false one.
These folks do realize that the university is CLOSED right now, don't they?? Professors and others do get vacations from time to time, and if they choose to spend the time on this board, it's their time. In any case, these two gentlepersons are obviously new to the board or they would remember the hundred or so times the computer discussion has already taken place.

No false at all, Dr. Do. I'm not even employed by USM and live nowhere around there, but it would be a cold day in NitChampburg before I would send anything to a computer bearing one of those little silver tags.
Well, as long as we are back on the ancient topic of computer privacy, I will add this. I know of at least one person at USM who will only use the public computers in Cook Library to access this board. I suppose that using a public computer is one way to keep correspondence private.

I know someone who will use only the campus payphones when discussing delicate matters of university proportion. I am not exagerating.

Well, it may seem pointless, but it certainly helps the reader understand a response that is removed from the original post. Like, for example, this one.
