I was privileged and very happy to attend the ceremony this afternoon.  Kudos to everyone who worked hard to make it a moving and beautiful occasion.  Special thanks and a big hug to English's Dr. Stan Hauer, who coordinated the event with Dr. Lucas.  It was great to see so many friends, and sad to think of so many who should have been there -- we missed you, thought of you, talked about you. 


(Note to academic ladies:  The mortarboard should be parallel to the floor, not perpendicular.  Note to all:  Turn your hood out so the colors show and be sure it hangs straight instead of falling over one shoulder.  Gravitas, people.)
