This one sentence from an Associated Press item that appeared on the internet today may provide an analogy that may at least partially help explain why the IHL is letting this happen to USM. "A dairy trade group is expanding a program that pays farmers to reduce the size of their herds in an effort to keep milk prices up." Could it be that the size of Mississippi's academic institutional "herd" being reduced in size? The agricultural economists from Starkville are pretty smart, you know. And it would certainly keep the stock of Ole Miss up with no major milk cows South of Jackson.

Whether by design or through ignorance, IHL's lack of action is slowly sending USM out to pasture.
