"Those who imply that universities should be nothing more than factories that simply mass-produce students for the workforce are grossly mistaken on the purpose of universities. Universities are a way to create new knowledge, through research. Then pass that knowledge onto the next generation of researchers through its classrooms."

What a great letter! The student who wrote it seems to have a clear understanding of what a university is all about.
