I am not in the BC, and don't have a dog in this fight, but this letter is so inappropriate in so many ways. Now that HD and FN are back in the ranks, I wouldn't hold it against them if they filed suit against this particular letter writer. The letter writer seems clueless that he is held in very low esteem among the faculty of the university (and certain Lamar County court personnel), and that he would find little support for his positions outside of a small cadre of like minded folks in his college.

Here's a suggestion. An office is ready and available for Dr. Doty. Room 100A, Green Hall, College of Business

How long has he been there and yet does not know how to spell Greene Hall?

This letter writer is a very small fish in an even smaller pond.  One would wonder why this letter writer spends so much of his very valuable time keeping up with the details of his former dean's various trips, etc.  One would even further conjecture that if this letter writer knows so much about said former dean, then he must spend copious amounts of time stationed just outside said former dean's office door with a stopwatch to clock how much time said former dean spends in his office.

Give me a break, puh-leaze.

Here's a parable:

A woman finds out her husband is cheating on her (or doing whatever). She files for a divorce and moves away.
She has accomplished her goal -- the man is no longer in her life.

But for some reason, she can't be content with getting rid of the bum. She keeps going back to where he lives, driving up and down the street checking out his activities, and then discussing them incessantly with her friends, relatives and anybody else who'll listen.
At this point, regardless of his past behavior towards her, her behavior becomes obsessive and unhealthy. Other people question her stability as well as her motives. Some people are even a little afraid of her and she begins to lose the sympathy and support she once had.

The good thing for this lady is to move on. She should focus on her own work and life and ignore the former source of her distress.

Just a thought.

I have always avoided going to "that" web site mainly because I didn't want to add to the log stats and somehow show support in that way. But, after reading this thread, I went. The word that kept coming to my mind over and over again as I trudged through this mess was a variation of the word "hinged". I'm sure you UNderstand.
