In Friday's meeting the Faculty Senate passed a resolution adopting a Five-year retrospective documentation of the Thames administration. It is to appear as an appendix to the minutes and will be posted on the Faculty Senate website. It was the intention of the Faculty Senate to post the retrospective before the new administration takes office.
given the inability of the senate to post minutes in a timely manner, when should we expect this 5-year retrospective? in december? come on--draft versions of minutes from february minutes in may??

How nice.
I hope Anonymous checks out the Faculty Senate minutes to examine in detail the issues that body has addressed. This kind of criticism is especially typical of the Thames administration and others who have little experience on these kinds of committees. I recall the same expression about Academic Council by Thames et al. regarding the general education core. The most valuable thing about these bodies is careful deliberation rather than simply rushing forward regardless of the consequences. Careful deliberation is more likely to result in wise decisions (which have been all too lacking in the last five years). Moreover, so many mid-level and senior faculty have left the university over the last five years that it is tremendously difficult for those who have remained behind who are most likely to serve on 5 or 6 university committees.
This is indeed a useless critique.
