Wondering if anyone saw today's - Saturday, Oct. 2 - article on Medicaid in the Hattiesburg American?
Why should you care and what does this have to do with USM?
Very simple. Barbour is quoting figures about the spending on prescription drugs of those poor souls he's shuffling off Medicaid, numbers he says he got from USM's College of Health. Only problem is they can't confirm that they gave him the numbers or not...but they are trying to snare some work with the Division of Medicaid, though, but that's tangled up in the lawsuit.
Are USM and Barbour tag-teaming the PLADs? Is it just me or does everything USM touch turn into a mess?
Same edition of the paper has an interesting editorial on the importance of filling the open ADP President's position with a well-qualified person. Word around town in Hattiesburg is that the ADP is weighing Angie Dvorak's "baggage" with what several on the ADP board feel are her strengths for this position. Another resurging issue...

Today's HA gives an update on the search for Philip Halstead's replacement and indicates there are four finalists, including Mississippians. That at least one of the candidates is from the university would not be a surprise.
