 This week we saw the heartbreaking events at Virginia Tech unfold. This
 horrific tragedy resonated through the hearts and minds of us all. We offer
 our deepest condolences to the families, faculty, staff and especially the
 students of Virginia Tech.

 A campus-wide prayer time on Tuesday sponsored by our campus minister's group
 focused on the Virginia Tech tragedy. Our continuing individual prayers go out
 to the greater Virginia Tech community and especially to the families of the
 victims of this tragedy.
 
 The University of Southern Mississippi is a close-knit campus family and
 events of this week heighten our safety awareness. Please take advantage of
 the support provided and exercise appropriate caution.
 
 Today, on this national day of remembrance, we wear Virginia Tech colors - we
 all are Hokies.
