Like you, we here at Chez de Guerre are delighted with the appointment of Dr. Martha Saunders as your new president. In fact, Mlle. was abed rather late this morning with a headache, brought on by a slight over-indulgence in champagne last night. There was, however, no glass-smashing. I suspect those days are over.
Alert readers will recall that when last I posted, prior to Dr. Saunders' name being announced, I noted that Mlle. was up early and out on the sunporch. I also noted that she was humming La Marseillaise, the FRENCH national anthem. When the IHL announced the name of Dr. Saunders, a FRENCH major, Mlle. smiled at me a wee bit smugly. I think she was slightly disappointed that neither I nor anyone else caught the significance of her hint. As this is a solemn day, both Mlle. and I will be attending Good Friday services later, so I will leave you for now. Your friends at Chez de Guerre rejoice with you.
Good day to you all.
Sincerely,
H. Angleterre, Social Secretary to Monique de Guerre
