As you probably already know, you will find the damage done by last President to be quite a challenge to fix. The faculty and staff are eager to get to work and help you in any way that we can.

There are many folks closely aligned with the SFT administration who have behaved reprehensibly in the name of loyalty to the chief. They will be making their case to whomever will listen at this point--trying to maintain whatever position of authority or power they can. These folks have the potential for creating havoc until May 20 and beyond (and some have been, in fact). Therefore, your immediate engagement in the affairs of USM would be most welcome by the faculty. It's been quite awhile since USM has had real leadership in the Dome.

Many of us will mark today as the beginning of your tenure here. Feel free to get down to work!
