Among the highlights, he noted a more efficient administration, an increase in faculty salaries, increased honor student enrollment, over $130 million in capital improvement projects and additional research dollars.

WARNING: Historical reconstruction underway!

"More efficient administration" -- as measured, perhaps, by the wrenching SACS probation?

"Increase in faculty salaries" -- is the president confusing "faculty" with "cronies" here?

"Increased honor student enrollment" -- uh, Ken Panton, anyone? And whatever happened to the mantra of "20,000 students"?

"Capital improvement projects" -- nice, perhaps, but at the price of what? Massive outsourcing? Curtailed library acquisitions? Ripping faculty lines away from Psychology? And a heaping dose of help from Katrina-related funds.

"Additional research dollars" -- because faculty have been inspired by the sterling example of SFT? Somebody might want to check closely into the way Sponsored Programs "books" external funding. But, then, everyone has confidence in the accuracy of this administration's numbers!

Those "achievements" would fall to the Provost (who dat?), of course.
