Another suggestion that comes from a friend in Florida is to fill your car with gas, stock up on bottled water & DRIVE STRAIGHT TO NEBRASKA.
They like Mississippi license plates in Nebraska...

And don't forget your tenure letter, and your contract. Put those in your safety deposit box also so they won't get destroyed. One can never tell when you will need them.

Precedent for imposing martial law in the future?
(Curfew? You mean they don't have curfew? Don't freshmen have to wear beanies & get crew cuts? Isn't public display of affection still a "campus-able" offense? And they call this a college education? Sheesh.)
Now, back to sawing the plywood...
<OBLIGATORY DYLANISM>
Standing on the waters casting your bread While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing. Distant ships sailing into the mist, You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing. Freedom just around the corner for you But with the truth so far off, what good will it do?
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune, Bird fly high by the light of the moon, Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.
Saw many places in town "boarding" up. Hope everyone has their "emergency" supplies (food, water, gas, etc.") Looks like IVAN will hit sometime Thursday morning, but the effects of it's winds (and rain?) will be felt by tomorrow afternoon/early evening.
