USM president candidate to visit campus April 5 Staff reports
The identity of the next president of the University of Southern Mississippi is still unknown, but he or she already has a first date with the campus community.
A single “preferred candidate” to succeed current president Shelby Thames is scheduled to attend a day-long battery of on-campus interviews April 5, Higher Education Commissioner Tom Meredith and College Board trustee Robin Robinson announced Monday in a memorandum addressed to the Southern Miss community.
“We were extremely pleased with the pool of candidates for this presidency,” the memo stated.
