...A campus-based Search Advisory Committee comprised of faculty, staff, community members, alumni and students will review applications seven to 10 days before a Feb. 2, 2007 meeting during which the committee will forward at least five names to the board for further investigation and interviews, said Peter Fos, Southern Miss Dean of the College of Health and Search Advisory Committee chair.
"I've identified a 'safe room' where all applications will be stored while on campus," Fos said, adding a carefully orchestrated sign-in process will ensure that only committee members have access to the materials.
"So far, so good," Fos said of the process. "We're happy that faculty, staff and the community actually have some role in it at all."...
