Members of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Search Advisory Committee, formed by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) to assist with the Board’s search for the next institutional executive officer of Southern Miss, will meet for an orientation with Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Thomas C. Meredith and executive search consultant Dr. Jan Greenwood on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, from 10:00 am until noon in Room 216 of the Thad Cochran Center on the University of Southern Mississippi campus, 121 West Memorial Drive, Hattiesburg, MS, 39406. Search Advisory Committee members will discuss the Board’s presidential search process as well as the Board’s expectations. The University of Southern Mississippi’s Search Advisory Committee members were chosen based on recommendations by university and community constituencies and reflect key members of the university community as well as the public and private sectors. The Southern Miss Search Advisory Committee is charged with identifying the most capable and qualified applicants and nominees to be presented to the Board Search Committee for review. Some Search Advisory Committee members will also participate in the final interview process with the Board of Trustees.
