Hello folks! You may remember me as the man who founded the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync. I’m here today to tell you about a new group that I have discovered: H-Do and the Canebrake Posse. They’ve just finished their first album “Live from Joseph Greene,” and I wanted you to get a sample of their work. H-Do and the Canebrake Posse is comprised of several members, though you only hear from H-Do himself plus Stevie B and DJ GC. Other members appear on other tracks from the album. The following is excerpted from the track titled “Straight Outta da ‘Cuse.” I think they’ll be a real alternative to groups like the Beastie Boys. Check it out:
H-Do:
Well I’m H-Do and this is my crew.
Every mornin’ they call me and ask what to do.
Should they cut my grass? Should they wash my car?
Ya know I’m feelin’ like a movie star.
Stevie B:
Wazzup, Boss? I always say.
Gotta get started on a brand new day.
Gotta flack, flack, flack for everyone to see
Bow Wow Buckshot…yeah, that’s me.
DJ GC:
“Happy day, everyone!” is my old line.
I always look like I’m feelin’ fine.
The Dean’s my man, is what I say.
He’s my stairway to the highest pay.
H-Do:
Who’s the Dean? Ya know I’m the one.
Some folks say I act like Napoleon.
My pants high-water, but I don’t care—
They’re the only pants I get to wear.
Entire Posse:
Joseph Greene, we’re here to stay.
Ain’t none of us gonna run away.
All CBED, we’ll see you later.
DJ GC…take us out with the fader.
Well folks, what do you think? No doubt, those boys have talent. I’ll give you some more samples later. The album will be in stores November 31, 2004.
You CBED'ers are right on the mark. ROTFL!!! I wish I had gotten to know you all better when I was teaching at the currently shackled university. So happy that there is a website provided for all of our various disciplines where we can have a real convocation.
I got a chance to see these guys perform last Winter. They are terrific. Their getups are great, you don't see boy bands like this anymore. Oh, and word to your mother: Don't take your date to see these guys. Just trust me.
Isn't this the group with the uncut version title "Yo dawta's a h..."? We got it in the other day, and it is raw. We're going to debut them in September, right after Labor Day.
You guys are missing the best of it all. The former fundraiser from CBED holds the copyright to the(ir) awesome track "Indecent Proposal" and he has already signed Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson and Robert Redford to star in the video. We're trying to get production rights on it this week (maybe next).
Wasn't it foot soldier who was going to work up a music game, related to the theme of this board, for posters to play? Give us an update on that project, foot soldier.
I and D.S. Tucker have read their lyrics and are working with the music industry to have them appropriately labeled. "Yo dawta's a h.." is particularly disturbing, as is "Indecent Proposal."
