The dean's evaluations are out in COAL and they seem to be seriously problematic. From what I've heard Dr. Pood and his folk have redone all the departmental evaluations, in spite of the apparently quite limited knowledge they have of various disciplines within the college. It might be a good idea to compare notes here so that individuals across the college have solid information with which to appeal. In the best case perhaps we can get Pood to toss the entire set of his wholly subjective (and seemingly ill-informed) re-evaluations and return to evaluations provided by the departments.
Can you clarify why people are getting evaluated by the Dean, as opposed to their dept. heads? This is an additional level of manipulation, uh, I mean, evaluation?
Well, between Googler and Invictus with his Dylan, perhaps we should start a best musical reference of the week award. I would be happy to chair the committee, as I do want to pump my resume. But what I really need is actual sound clips on the message board....
Actually I've been searching for a clip of Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and hope to post it when I get back home. Chair it Foot Soldier!!!

That would put us at four, count 'em four awards. I think that might be overkill, and I certainly don't want to offend Miss Information or #1 Groupie. On the other hand, it looks like Googler has the potential to make a sweep and win several medals. And I have a former East German judge willing to serve on my committee and give everyone low marks.

Sounds like a lot of fun, foot soldier. And it could be motivational as well as instructive. Go for it!
As Tinctoris will tell you (tell 'em Tinctoris) I am the least qualified person on this board to judge popular culture. But I am willing to follow in the footsteps of many least-qualified persons who have risen to positions of high authority, many of whom we all know personally. Tinctoris, help me on this one! I need you on the committee.

I do hope your committee will be comprised of those who know music other than that of contemporary teeny boppers and former flower children . . . those who realize that the worst place world to listen to music is between or in front of multiple speakers screaming into throbing ears . . . those who know the difference between music and noise . . . those who know more about music than the twang twang twang and boom boom boom coming from the stage in front of yelping and screaming wide-eyed adolescents and adolescent wannabees. If you have a knowledgable committee, this should be a great weekly event.
Don't forget about Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job and Shove It"...
Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more. My woman done left, An' took all the reasons I was workin' for. You better not to try to stand in my way, As I'm a walkin' out the door. Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more.
I've been workin' in this fact'ry, For nigh on fifteen years. All this time, I watched my woman, Drownin' in a pool of tears. An I've seen a lot of my good folk die, Had a lot of bills to pay. I'd give the shirt right off of my back, If I had the guts to say.
Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more. My woman done left, An' took all the reasons I was workin' for. You better not to try to stand in my way, As I'm a walkin' out the door. Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more.
Well, that foreman, he's a regular dog, The line boss is a fool. Got a brand new flat-top haircut; Lord, he thinks he's cool. One of these days, I'm gonna blow my top, And sucker, he's gonna pay Lord, I can't wait to see their faces, When I get the nerve to say:
Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more. My woman done left, An' took all the reasons I was workin' for. You better not to try to stand in my way, As I'm a walkin' out the door. Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more.

Chairs have the evaluations (not the raises, as far as we know), and are presumably delivering them to their faculties.
PS. Is the "humor" that has overtaken this thread delirium or something more sinister?

Obligatory Jimmy Buffett lyric: "If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane."
