Nom D'aplomb Progress Report

The committee for this week's Nom d'aplomb award has just come out of executive session.   Although much of what was discussed will never be revealed (at least not until 2044), we can share the following:

Services of Dr. MaderMath Revisited were approved.  Fees of $3.25/hour (going rate for USM adjunct discounted for internet degree in economic development numerology) were approved.  Summary of the first 77 hours (because Dr. MMR has something about sevens) of the consulting contract indicate that there have been 132 new board pseudonyms since the advent of the Nom d'aplomb award.  This astounding number can best be explained by applying reverse parabolic functions to integer inverses and taking the log root of the asymmetric parobola as applied to the least squares regression line.

Concern was raised over five of the names in contention.  Invictus has expressed a preference but there is a real concern about the extent of Roman bonding going on.  Malapropism has been rather tight-lipped about the definition of "decent" payola and may be awaiting some further clarification.  There was a debate about whether Kiss Principal was clever or a poor speller. Limulus limerick was quite funny but showed very poor board manners in not returning to the Trivial Pursuit game (not to mention failure to italicize).  Finally, Miss Information is exerting a very strong disapproving influence regarding the favorite pseudonym.

The committee agreed to meet once more before announcing tomorrow's winner.

You can say that again! How could I explain it to the the Ladies Missionary Society? Some of them wouldn't know Garrison Keillor from Harrison Ford. They aren't artsy liberal types, y'know? I see that alias & all I can think of is a sleazy magazine.

We'll figure out something by tomorrow.
