Was it held indoors or out? I might have gone if not for the intense heat and the parking. However, I'm having a lot of trouble watching the TV coverage today of all the observances. Just cannot deal with it. Too much trauma here, too many friends in New Orleans.

For some reason, my TiVO recorded the ceremony today. . . so I can say the following:
(a) it was held outside on the steps of the Dome, facing the fountain
(b) the turn-out was very, very small
(c) the attendees looked very, very hot
(d) Thames made weak joke attempts about the temperature that did not appear to be met with much (any?) laughter
(e) Babs Faulks delivered a very nice speech
(f) I fast-forwarded through most of the other stuff
