Does anyone reading this board know what has happened to each of the nine deans treated disrespectfully by SFT?  I know Stringer(resigned, going to TAMU with GS) and Harper (retired), but what about the others?

Anyone wanting to provide some solid evidence about the duplicity of this administration should gather the facts to show the lie about savings--and money going into academics rather than administration.

I understand nursing is suffering.  What about the arts?  Criminal justice?  Other programs that have been moved around?

Carl Martray went to Mercer in Ga. He was a wonderful dean.

Yes, Carl Martray was a wonderful dean, as was Bobby Anderson before him.  Mercer was fortunate to get Martray back (he was at Mercer prior to coming to USM). Both had integrity. I have often wondered why USM has a history of attracting capable people, but often kicks them in the head.

Hey Lamont,

Carl came to USM from Western Kentucky University, where he'd been for 27 years. I don't think he was ever at Mercer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Jo

PS I agree that he was a wonderful dean.

Retired prof, you are absolutely correct. My error. Careless me. Carl Martray was at Western Kentucky prior to moving to USM. I suppose the good ones go and come so fast around here that, as my 3rd grade teacher used to say about me, "Lamont, you thinking cap is not on straight." I should have remembered Martray was at Western Kentucky because he and I once talked about that great 50's-era popular singing group, The Hilltoppers, was organized while they were students at Western Kentucky.
