Well colleagues, as another holiday descends upon us, you can guess what that means! Seriously folks, the purpose of this post is to establish the official over/under for how many hours/days the CBED server will be down. Can anyone tell me exactly when it went down because I think we might be approaching a record. I think it went out sometime late Thursday but maybe someone knows exactly. Yet another national search and, low and behold if the best the country has to offer isn't right here in Kansas. And to top it off, he periodically informs us just who works for whom! LOVE to hear the board's thoughts on this one!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend and here's hoping you do not have any important need to use USM's World Class server!!
Don't worry Biz! Rest assured, HD will get to the bottom of this! What's the previous record, anyone recall? Let's try to establish the current down time. BE says before Thursday...shall we say Wednesday 5 p.m. I'm sure our IT support man will come in over the weekend to sort things out! After all this is USM.
We're so envious of the cool new uniforms that you CBEDers are going to get that we crashed your server! Probably won't fix the problem until mid-July and even then some will be allowed access sooner than others.
CBED's plan is to have a payroll deduction for the "business uniforms." The model is Wendy's.
My CBA sources indicate there are several inside that college that cannot receive or send university emails and have not for months. I-Tech is unable or unwilling to correct the problems. Some are saying that is a sign that departures from I-tech are so heavy that the university system is in danger. Others say it is because the consultants want the system to continue to have problems becasue that keeps them employed.
When Vanilla Ice got here back in Summer of 2003, he collected all of the resumes in the CBED, but he has yet to get around to looking at any of them. He's got to do that first, then get the website up and running before he can address any email problems in the building. Of course, this is all contingent upon cutting the majors down to 9 hours first. It is possible, however, that the new academic dishonesty policy could consume all of his time and he won't get to any of this other stuff.
But why is CBED's main Itech guy's average response time measured in days instead of minutes? And why is it that KS thinks we work for him? How can this kind of attitude be permitted? Why doesn't HD straighten this situation out?

I'm sure Doty is working on it. He'll never get the problem fixed, but he's working on it.

Let me get this straight...the faculty in the CBED will be required to wear "uniforms" (I assume polo shirts with the corporate emblem?)...and they're going to be charged for them???(see earlier post about payroll deduction). Was this a unilateral decision or did the faculty have any input?

I thought this was a send-up...it isn't for real, is it?
