China trip beneficial?

Is there any news about Doty's return to the New World from China?  Did his trip benefit USM in any way?

If history is any indicator, the results of the China trip are "confidential." "Confidential" is the CoB administration's term for "We don't want you finding out what we're up to. Also, we don't want anyone attempting any oversight into how we spend money, how we conduct searches, or how we make decisions."

The short answer is that there hasn't even been any acknowledgement that a China trip ever occurred, even though eyewitnesses placed both Doty and Niroomand there.

Acknowledgement?

Dear CoBMob,

Back in Joseph Greene safe and sound from our trip to China.  Thanks for asking.  Missed you.

Love,

H & F

Thanks, H & F.  Oh, what does the tab look like?  Will anyone else in the CoB be able to travel at all this year?

Just ran into HD, and he said his trip was quite beneficial.

He brought back from Cathay four wonderous things:

1. pasty, squiggly wheat strings boiled in broth--he calls them NOODLES.

2. A black powder that burns very fast--He calls it GUNPOWDER.

3. A very hard, very white type of pottery. He calls it PORCELAIN.

4. A hard, black round spice you grind up and put on meat. He calls it PEPPER.

Oh, the wonders of the orient. If only there were a direct sea route to that place.

Surely, Mr. Polo, there is a #5 that relates to AACSB accreditation, and a #6 that is an announcement of the new International Business faculty hire.

The IB hiring process is floundering.  IB majors will be losing out this time.  A hire will be made at the upcoming AOM meeting and the slot will move to another department after that.

That department would not be Management by any chance, would it?
