What the article says without saying it is that Hansen's salary is going to get gobbled up by all of the "promotions" within the "restructuring" plan.  His duties are being parceled out as well.

All that bogus aggrandizement reminds me of some banks where everyone who is not a teller is a vice president.

The article says that Scott Carr has been promoted to Deputy Director, which is the title held formerly by David Hansen. The primary difference is Carr will continue to oversee external affairs, as he did prior to the promotion.

Hansen was responsible for internal affairs, including serving as the CFO for Athletics. Someone from Louisiana-Monroe has been hired to oversee internal affairs.

My guess is a good portion of Hansen's salary is going to the new hire for internal affairs, and of all the "promotions," Carr probably got the biggest salary bump.

if someone gets promoted why shouldnt they get a bump in salary? Why is it everytime someone at Southern Mess gets "new duties" tacked on to their jobs they expect them to do it for the same pay?

The funny thing about athletics is how much Giannini makes and then how much his "second in command" makes.
