Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, MS is recruiting for a Director of Institutional Effectiveness effective July 1. Southern Miss is a SREB I, research extensive university with over 16,000 students on two campuses. The Director of IE oversees the academic and institutional assessment process, working closely with program directors, chairs, deans and vice presidents to develop and improve the assessment process. In addition, this position manages the SACS Reaffirmation documentation and reporting requirements and works with Institutional Research regarding survey data collection and analysis to support assessment and accreditation. The position supervises several analyst positions. Master’s degree required. PhD preferred.

A few weeks ago, I was told that a particular would soon be "working for USM next year" in the institutional effectiveness area. If my source is correct, USM people are going to be very pleasantly surprised. The person is well known to USM personnel & has gotten fairly favorable reviews in this forum.
