1. It's sounding more and more like the move of ED from CBED to COAL is a done deal.  As you know, this move brings TH, AD and KM into the COAL.  Now they will be "working with" EP, a much less difficult proposition than what they've faced in the past.

2. More news out about further loss of faculty in the COAL.  Word on the street is that Noel Polk has at least one offer, and that someone else in history may have an announcement in the near future (if the decision on an offer breaks).

3. Rumors continue to swirl about the future of the writers program in COAL.  Some say it will not be around much longer.

4. It is well known that SFT has many detractors in the COAL.  Look for him to stir the hornet's nest when KM & Co come into the building looking for new digs.

This ought to be interesting, especially since the chair of the English Department, Angela Ball, is a poet in The Center for Writers.  Also, the Center for Writers brings in more graduate students (i.e. more cheap labor to teach ENG 101 classes) than the literature side.  My prediction is that the writing program will prevail.
