WDAM at 6:00 reported that tonight a campus committee will vote on whether or not to outsource Physical Plant, despite objections that outsourcing will end up costing more and a petition to stop the move to outsource.

This really should be stopped. Once gone, the infrastructure will be nearly impossible to reestablish, and as in the case of denationalized utilities round the world, deregulation follows.

There is no more clear moneygrabbing scheme here. Don't have to pay anybody, and others pay for the contract.

Employees lose all around.

Lame duck presidencies should not have such say-so.

WDAM reports that "the committee recommended outsourcing physical plant" and "the decision is now up to President Thames".

The vote was 6-5 in favor of outsourcing.

The decision has always been in Dr. Thames' hands whether or not the committee or anyone else recommended the "out sourcing" of Physical Plant.
