Words from mclubber, baller, and gorod

1. Word on the street is that LE has no clue as to how bad the attendance problem at USM is.  His lack of knowledge is now reportedly being confounded by the LSM-style spin that's comin' out of the AD.  As many of you know, the AD is now putting out "info" that the number of season ticket "pledges" is over 550, and that "most of these" are from people "who have not purchased season passes in the past."  This number compares to the approx. 800 season ticket sales last year.  We're told these numbers are very misleading, and that LE seems to have the ISU mentality that a season ticket sold is a butt in the seats.  Not so at USM.

2. As has been reported numerous times, JB is a prime SFT target now.  Rumors are growing that he's making contingency plans for himself and his assistants.  Don't believe that there's not a market for coaches who run a clean program, graduate players and go to 6 bowls every seven years.  Look for more "mobility" from this quarter.

3. Another surprise awaiting LE may be the support that JLM has hitting the ground.  Stories are out that all of the KJ faithful are coming back into the fold, and that JLM is going to have so much support that she will likely get most of her "wishes" from RG & Co.

4. Rumbings are now that the AD line will soon be that all of the proposed luxury boxes are "committed," even though most of the community knows ticket sales are struggling.  This may be the "final push" strategy on the expansion.

No kidding - JB would not be waiting long for a job if the Gnome kicks him out. At worst, he could easily be a coordinator for an SEC school until another head job opens up. Also, keeping the Nix brothers around would be very attractive as a group package to other schools. But the biggest shame about all of this is that JB (from all accounts) is very happy in Hattiesburg and has apparently turned down more lucrative offers to keep his family here. I GUARANTEE that USM will not be able to replace him with a coach as good and/or loyal as JB has been to USM. LE is high profile, but don't plan on him being here in 3 years - USM is just a stop on his "I'm not really a sloppy drunk" recovery tour with his sights on a larger university with a more populated sorority system.....
