Despite his best efforts, and his Eagle Club Membership and public support of the USM Symphony, Hill’s local company was passed over in favor of a national chain, all in the name of efficiency and economic development.

Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association < 1. A dedicated group of volunteer citizens consisting of local residents, professionals and officials who are putting the "wheels into motion" for the historic development of downtown Hattiesburg (see downtownhattiesburg.com); 2.another local civic/business organization becoming uncomfortably close/attached to the Thames administration at USM.

Assistant Professor of English at USM, and product of a national job search; 2. became a key figure during the Glamser-Stringer hearings when Shelby Thames accused Gary Stringer of investigating Angeline Dvorak continuous and contiguous to the investigation of her by the AAUP; 3. Stringer’s testimony indicated that he looked into Dvorak’s credentials in the Summer of 2003 only after she denied Kuskin promotion in her role as Vice President for Research and Economic Development; 4. for the record, Kuskin has a B.A./M.A. from Vassar College, a PhD from the University of Wisconsin, and solid academic record since coming to USM.
