1. Stories are coming out suggestin' that the NCAA is going to be looking into claims that former NBA coach and Hattiesburg son Tim Floyd plans to "help out" his old friend Larry Eustachy with coaching duties this fall. Apparently, the NCAA restricts both the number of assistant coaches and the duties they can perform in men's basketball. It seems that some ConferenceUSA brethren got wind of the plan through the media and tipped off the NCAA. Thanks mclubber.
2. Heard a rumor yesterday that some sort of "composite statistic" may be released to the media, instead of just summer enrollment, to indicate the number of "campus users" during Summer 2004. This stat would include summer enrollment, girls state participants, cheerleader campers, etc. in an effort to mask low summer enrollment figures. Thanks grapevine.
3. Stories are circulating now that in some administrative units around campus one of the main qualifications sought in female applicants when filling vacancies is "'physical appearance" (i.e., "hotties"). Will hopefully be able to look into this further. Thanks gorod.
4. Rumors are spouting that SFT plans to give his canned presentation "From Polymer Scientist to President" at a future PC meeting (as filler). Thanks ntsft.
5. Rumbling that Walt Cain is spending part of his summer setting up the Varsity Voice apparatus continues. They hope to have a staff in place and get the paper off the ground as quick as possible in the fall. Thanks domer.

I have actually heard people talking about this with regard to (I think) part of the iTech/Pileum unit.
