i just found out yesterday that august graduation will not be held in Reed-Green. Instead, it is to be on MONDAY, August 9 down hwy 49 at the multi-purpose center (ya know, where the rodeos are) because of renovations to the coliseum.
they could have told us ya know months ago.
just wanted to rant.


then again, i will find it amusing if shelby steps in a pile of s***

Not so off-topic as you might think, Ree. Changing the published dates of graduation has significant implications, not the least of which pertains to the (diminishing?) numbers of graduate students involved in the summer program, many of whom are from other states. They made fight reservations on the basis of the published information about graduation.


Jim Hollandsworth, long in charge of graduation ceremonies, would have booked the rodeo barn long in advance. They knew that Reed would be unavailable.

FYI,  If you are a faculty member or student participating in graduation exercises, YOU better get there early because when Hattiesburg H.S. had it's graduation, everyone had a hard time getting to the Multi-purpose Center because of the "two-lane" road leading into the parking area.  Graduation had to start "late" because the graduates were not there yet.
