Summer enrollment at William Carey is up from 1944 (2003) to 2153 (2004), for an increase of 10.75%. The Fail School of Nursing at WCC also saw an increase in Summer enrollment from 83 (2003) to 119 (2004), an increase of 43.37%.
Hmmmm - USM down 15% or so, and William Carey up...it used to be a given that a USM education was head and shoulders above a W.C. education, but with the departure of so many excellent faculty (many of the faculty who are desirable to other universities have left - no slam to those who have decided to stick it out for whatever the reason) who can really say that now? It's very possible that the only difference between USM and W.C could simply be a matter of monetary and physical resources -- they have no library to speak of, for instance --God knows we are almost as overtly religous.....beginning of a long, slow, painful death for USM?
