From the article:  "In his farewell, Dr. Lee reported that between 2000 and 2005, MSU had a net loss of 51 people in its professorship ranks and a net increase of 35 instructors."


Can this be correct?  Only 51 pros left MSU in 6 years?  How many left USM, profs only not staff?

the key phrase is "net loss." those faculty that left compared to those hired.

Ahh,  I missed that little word "net".   I wonder what USM's "net" lost has been since 2002.  We need more info than the list posted on this board for that.  I do know the CoST have had a net gain.  Their problem now is finding office space and lab space for all the new hires.
