Sometimes hypocrisy and irony are blatantly right there in front of you.
I picked up The Clarion-Ledger, and there above the fold was the story about the renewal of Mississippi State University athletic director Larry Templeton's contract ("Templeton receives 1-year extension," May 21).
It seems that three members of the College Board — all MSU supporters — "expressed displeasure in the direction of their alma mater's athletic department under Templeton."
If memory serves me correctly, it has always been alleged that members of the College Board leave allegiances behind when they assume their appointment.
Allegiances could not possibly be behind the obvious historic favoritism toward the universities in Oxford and Starkville — could they?
