May I suggest that when the field has been narrowed down to a few favorites, we be given the chance to vote from among those?

In other words, can we have a run-off?

I accept the fact that AAUP has, and should, have the final say in deciding if the Board should be dissociated from that organization. If that were the question on this poll I would vote NO. I believe that the posts on a board without an academic base, such as AAUP, will be qualitatively from and not as valuable as those on a privately sponsored board. I could be wrong, but those are my thoughts. If that's the AAUP's decision, however, I'm sure there are some very good reasons to make the change.

One suggestion has been that AAUP maintain a link, among other links, to this board. That could enable people to find it, but lessen the appearance of "sponsorship" which AAUP would probably like to avoid.
