This is in the minutes for the IHL


 


USM – Approved the purchase of property located at 596 North 25th Avenue in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.


The purchase price of $48,600 is less than the average of two appraisals. University funds will be used


for the purchase.


 


does anyone know what this will be used for?

I think they buy property around campus as it becomes available. Many big institutions do that, to avoid becoming land-locked. Someone told me they bought some of the really destroyed little houses, probably a good deal for everyone.

I believe that this property will be deeded to the foundation and a hospitality center for honor club members will be constructed. This center will be used primarily for tailgating functions and because of ownership liquor will be allowed. Faculty honor club members will be welcome .

That some of the Foundation Trustees that have been added since SFT's coronation are encouraging the addition of a faculty club, to offer an olive branch. Just FWIW-
