I left the message below on the list detailing who is leaving. I repeat it for more visability below:
A couple of days ago I recieved a curiously worded missive from Mount Olympus inviting me to a reception next Thursday June 4, so that SFT could recognize my service to the university.
I do not feel inclined to accept this kind offer and intend instead to have a libation of some sort upstairs at 206 Front Street instead. I would be happy to hoist glasses with any other retirees or other interested collegues and friends at this time.

Next Thursday is June 3... the 4th is Friday. Surely Mount Olympus didn't issue an invite with a typo???

ummmm......what time was written on the invitation? I'd hate to be late....

Okay, why is Frank's name on this list?!?!? He hasn't retired!
Wonder how many of the retirees are going to the reception?. I am on the list and no way I'd attend anything hosted by that creep. He's getting no RSVP from me either.
Is the alternative retirement reception still on? I hope so. It is a great idea. I'd like to come honor some folks. Are there any plans to send emails to everyone on the retirement list?

Frank is a personal friend of mine. Today he advised me that he has taken consultant status in lieu of remaining an employee of the university. This permits him to accept employment elsewhere. His retirement status is a matter of public record.

OK, so that clears up Frank's name (and congrats to Frank), but why the heck is Carl Martray's name on the list?
I hope this obscene Thames finger to the retiring faculty and staff does not go unnoticed by the IHL Board. It's consistent with his firing of the Deans, of course, except that the deans did not get any sort of phony ceremonial. Maybe Shelby only shows up at occasions where he can axe somebody himself, so he can get his jollies. What a lowlife piece of orthodox mainstream pusillanimous unbearable and unredeemable s*** he is. Anybody who thinks he's changed is seriously misguided.

I see in the HA that Dr. Lucas attended the retirement reception. The Local/State section features a big picture of him as he "shares a laugh with Penny Hart . . ., who retired as a mail supervisor after 30 years of service."
Does SFT lack the gonads and gumption to go and at least act gracious every once in awhile?
