The Hattiesburg city council and the mayor are embroiled in an ongoing controversy with ugly racial overtones. The mayor's supporters have accused the white city council members of racism. USM faculty members,in general strong supporters of the mayor, are rallying to the call and are expected to help stoke the fires.
Whoever you are, and you're on here often, this is becoming tiresome. Your statement is pointless, untrue, and designed to cause more trouble than we already have. Please take your pot-stirring nonsense somewhere else.
Good, it's healthy for brothers to fight, then make up and become good friends five minutes later. There's plenty of blame to go around on both sides, and I hope they duke it out real good in a public forum. Sometimes you fight the hardest when there's the least at stake!
I don't know about any cauldron, but I do know the local media is biased. One paper, the Independent ,reported a death threat by a local black man against a white city councilman. The Hattiesburg American and WDAM TV have been strangely silent. What if a white man had threatened a black? Is there justice?

Why don't you take a break from your bigotry and bias long enough to read the damn paper before you trash it. It's in today's H-A.
