Do you even know what "Clabber Girl" refers to? You can't help it when news gets out because some SIU profs called friends in other disciplines at USM. Heck, I had a real-life USM CoST prof call me to tell me about his phone conversation.

20 minutes as dept chair hardly qualifies one to be Dean. Doty had 5 years and a UT degree and look what happened still. SIU-C is a quasi-real institution, and BB will be up to his neck there and then some.

Nothing posted about Dean jobs here will "sabotage" anyone's chances. Many people have been contacted about BB already and are giving very positive recommendations. Look at the recent moves of other faculty, up to Tier 2. If you want to leave the CoB and you have a good record, you can leave. Recent announcements prove that. BB will move on if he wants to.

The "Dean's Mob" is still reeling from recent events and doing their best to hang on. Hence, the scare tactics on the board. All you have to do is account for the members of that "Mob" and you will know it's the wrong side to be on.

It's a group calling themselves Delta Omicron Tau Ipsilon. They brand themselves on the bicep.

Inhouse - why would that be warranted? I am curious how a new chair with no previous academic administrative experience could have done anything in well under a year to make himself worthy of a counter-offer by USM. Is it just about the money? Does he really not want to be a dean? Or has his wife vetoed a move that far from family?
