I think everyone will find this week's issue very interesting. It has excerpts from a deposition of Tim Ryan and more. Follow the links, they tell the story.
I can't read this website. Sections of text are superimposed on one another. I'm using Firefox with scripts disabled, if that makes a difference.
LVN, I know what you mean. Try IE and see if that helps. If not, whenever you're near another computer check from there. I hope you get to see it, there's some interesting stuff here.
Har, you are way overexposed man. We've got to get you out of the spotlight for a while or you'll lose your attraction. We also need to get you back into the studio for some new headshots. That new one will devastate your career. We've got to replace that. Oh, and you're not paying me near enough. Extracting you from USM is the hardest job I've ever faced.

Greasy Agent - I think you've misread this site. It's not what you seem to think it is. It's quite well and painstakingly put together and very interesting.
Read it again Sam, I agree with you 100% about the website. It's very well done. I was making fun of that picture of Harold Doty on the first page. My use of "Har" was short for "Harold," as a greasy Hollywood agent would probably say. I was joking that Doty is doing so many stupid things that he is overexposing himself and making it difficult for himself to find employment elsewhere. Again, the site is excellent, especially today's new installment. I will follow it for sure.
I don't pretend to know much about the Foundation, but I do know that my department can never get a straight answer out of them about our own accounts. The Foundation doesn't know how much principle or donation money is in our accounts or how much we will receive from interest even this year despite repeated requests for information. Obviously, something stinks to high heaven over there and this has been posted about before. The question is how do we get the Foundation investigated/audited? Perhaps information like Prof. Depree's will get that ball rolling, and the CoB folks should know better than anyone how to get financial disclosure laws enforced.
Am I ready to write a check to the Foundation -- the answer is no. Unless something is done about the Foundation, neither I nor any of my friends will be making any more donations. I will urge everyone who mentions a USM donation to do something else with their money. I would rather go to the boats and throw my money away. At least I might have a little fun and the satisfaction of knowing that I have helped support the casino employees.
Over two years ago former employees of the Foundation kept warning that something was stinky over there. I doubt if they would speak publicly, but I'm sure they would talk to auditors if the questions were asked.
Like many others, I refuse to give one more dime to the Foundation until this mess is cleaned up.

USM gets $1 million donation Draughn gives money to College ...He’s given around $280,000 so far and plans to give the rest over the next 10 years. ...
Can USM count -- er, pad -- the $1 million each year for the next ten years? Can the entire $1 million be counted - er, padded - the first year even though only a portion of it will be given each year? Can I do my annual personnel activities report like that? I'd sure like to get merit raise credit each year for the next ten years for CY 2006 accomplishments.

I was just wondering when some idiot was going to make this a personal attack on a fine man and the best professor I ever had. I won't give money to this school because of stupid people like you. I could probably guess who you are, because you said enough bad things about him behind his back when I was a student. So much for PRIDE.

One trick administrators often pull is that they have slow-acting plans. That way, it doesn't seem so abrupt. I heard that the MIS deal is a 2-year plan that ends up with only 1 information systems prof remaining, 2 retiring, 2 terminated, a 1 relocated.
