This board is supposed to be focused on AAUP issues, such as getting a new president at USM. There are just a few posters from the COB probably doing most of these pestering posts, they have been sending emails for years in the COB as well. Most proclaiming in some way their self-importance or implicitly how they didn’t get a pat on the head that day. They want to be dean, chair or have a bust in the front hall. They have been doing this long before Doty, email and boards just give them a larger audience to show their immaturity and self centeredness. If it is the same group who are loud and obnoxious at meetings and send emails throughout the college, no big surprise they are all white males.
Maybe the webmaster can start blocking them. Wish they would stop in COB as well.
I don't think most of the posters on this board are in favor of blocking people. The webmaster will remove extremely offensive posts, or posts that advocate violence.
We just wish well-educated adults would use some civility and common sense. They could start by realizing that we can read normal-sized type and those who can't have made adjustments on their own computers. That goes for you sports fans too. Also, by now we all know what Mr. Doty looks like, so they can stop with the pics any time.
The solution is for them to start their own board. Are they afraid nobody would read it?

I'm like you, I don't prefer to see more pics. I like video better.
I would encourage all posters to ignore this thread -- do not post a response. From its tone, it is nothing more than race- and gender-baiting by a subset of the CoB who will be disadvantaged when Doty is removed as dean.
Please do not take the bait. The CoB may have problems, but even the oft-despised "white males" recognize the value of diversity., as does the vast majority of CoB faculty.
Since 1971, I have been less than the greatest fan of the USM College of Bidness. In fact, I believe I took exactly one class there -- a stats class 30 years ago from Ralph Bisland, who migrated to CoST with the rest of the Computer Science guys many many moons ago.
Whatever. I'm willing to make amends. To this end, I have found a mascot for COB. They could have a guy dress up like this on game days...

Invictus,
Isn't one class is a awfuly small sample on which to base an opinion of an entire college for 34 years? Besides, Ralph Bisland was never a CBA faculty member, although I believe he did teach an MIS course or two for the business school when the MIS program was getting started.
Not to disparage Ralph, however, becasue I have no idea about his teaching.

Yes, one class is an awfully small sample, which is why I have repented of my prejudicial ways & offered up "Corn COB Bob" as an olive branch in this detestable fray.
(This is not to say that I don't find an awful lot of COB alumni to be obnoids, which of course they are, but that's another thread altogether & most of them think I'm still some hippy-dip freak, which of course I am.)
You will recall in those days that Computer Science was part of the CBA until folks figured out the difference between MIS & "scientific computing," whatever either of them happen to be.
BTW, Ralph was a very good basic stats teacher. He made an impression on this particular "mind filled with mush." One of his demonstrations -- with the moral lesson "never underestimate the effects of intent & practice" -- was terrific & had I been a better marksman with a stick of chalk, I would have used it in my own classes! Ralph's also an avid golfer, FWIW.
