Earlier this week WDAM ran a story with John Brown interviewing Raylawni Branch about being one of USM's first African American students. At that time she publicly called on Thames to be the first name on the Kennard petition. The story didn't say anything about a response from Thames, even though there was footage of Brown and Branch walking through the Dome and past the president's office.
I strongly support efforts to clear the record on Clyde Kennard. What about the man who recanted his testimony? Was it given under oath? Is there a statue of limitations? I think we need a little time behind bars for the man.

There are always petitions and marchers and student groups to free the innocent. We need similar efforts to bring the guilty to account.
