I've been reading alot of the recent posts and many are mean spirited. I believe mean spiritedness is a cardinal sin and these attacks make me believe two things.First, these people are not liberals and secondly they are not members of the academic community. Liberalism has no room for mean spiritedness,it is found mainly in the conservative community, particularly in Republicans. The next time one of those GOPsters says something critical, you should reply,"No mean spiritedness allowed."
Mean spiritedness is no respector of political affiliation.
Yes, it has gotten hard to sort out what is a true concern from what is a grudge. Often we just have to depend on posters that we have known for a long time--or at least their sign in names are known to us.
I believe in mean spiritedness. I still haven't forgiven Shelby for the SACS probation or the mildew on my diplomas. If this board was never called "ForgiveShelby." I'll let the Lord to that.
Mean spiritedness is not a political thing, BTW. If it were, I wouldn't believe in it!
As far as I know, both Shelby Thames and Frank Glamser are Republicans. That ought to tell us how important national political affiliation is to the issues at USM.
(For that matter, I'm a Republican and my child is a Democrat. A LIBERAL Democrat. And that means what?? Not much, as far as I'm concerned.)
Brewster is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for a topic.

It's a slow Sunday, LVN, and the first one with no real football.
Please start a better topic. Now would have been a good time to have the I.D. vs Evolution debate. Too bad it ended last month
What is "real" life? Or the "real" world, or whatever it is that intellectual people don't know anything about.
Whose house is the coldest and/or who is wearing the most clothes with the thermostat the lowest? I can't phrase this correctly, but I'm at 68 with jeans, fuzzy slippers, a sweatshirt and a bathrobe. I'd have on gloves but they're out in the car and I'm too cold to go look for them.
Why aren't there any sidewalks in Hattiesburg and how can we get some?
What is the best Valentine's gift? Monique will get dark-chocolate raspberry creams from one of the gentleman callers, but what about the rest of us?
Who is the weirdest poster of all time and why? I vote for Invictus, with affection of course. Non-COB, please.
There's a wide world of interesting things to think about, isn't there?
I can't hold the candle of weirdness next to those quartz halogen bulbs in CoB. And remember, when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro!
Weird, weirder, and downright crazy. The latest is that all of Doty's former colleagues at both Arkansas and Syracuse have been mailbombed by one of the professors in CBA. In what academic universe would this be considered acceptable behavior?

Let's see if I understand, dean attacks faculty; faculty attacks back. Seems fair to me. Anyone know what charming stories Doty's former colleagues have to share? Rumor has it they were quite amusing.
