USM has announced its 2006 football schedule:

2006 Southern Miss football schedule
Sept. 2 - at Florida
Sept. 9 - host Southeastern Louisiana
Sept. 16 - host North Carolina State
Sept. 26 - at UCF
Oct. 3 - at Tulsa
Oct. 14 - host Houston
Oct. 21 - at Virginia Tech
Oct. 28 - host East Carolina
Nov. 4 - at Memphis
Nov. 11 - at Tulane
Nov. 18 - host UAB
Nov. 25 - host Marshall

Only Florida and Virginia Tech ended the 2005 season ranked in the BCS top 25. Given how hard it is to make a huge jump in 1 year, I just don't see this helping USM get to a BCS game. Their strength of schedule will be pitiful.

I would bet ECU.  They have been down for a while and seem to be the logical choice for an likely win vs. Houston.
