I caught about 40 minutes of Eustachy's radio show with John Cox the other night from Garfield's Restaurant and Pub. It was weird. From the background noise, it sounded as if only about 8 people were there paying attention. Eustachy addressed some of them by name.
The rapport between Cox and Eustachy is "off" a little, or a bit strange. During the entire 40 minutes or so that I listened, not a single phone call was taken (perhaps there aren't any). Cox speaks especially slow during the show, making wide use of the "uh" in his speaking. He said things like "We are ...uh...coming ....uh to you tonight ...uh from uh...Garfield's ... uh .... Restaurant and ... uh ... Pub.." I think I even heard him say "U ... uh ....AB..." during the broadcast.
I also heard a few zingers from Eustachy's mouth. He said that Hattiesburg has better potential for developing a fan base than Houston. Even better than that, he said that USM's basketball tradition was just as good as UAB's. Classic.
You should go to the next live broadcast. Your wit, wisdom, and complete knowledge of hoops would certainly capture the full attention of our coach. Heck, perhaps you might even become friends and he may turn over the reigns of the program to you!
Or you could continue to make condescending remarks on an internet message board and remain a total loser to the remainder of humanity - or at least the portion that reads this board. Enjoy your weekend
Your lack of both basketball knowledge and objectivity shines through in your post. Like other blind followers, you violently resist any supposition that there might be a problem with any facet of the USM athletics program or the university in general.
Eustachy hasn't gotten it done, period. He's alienated local recruits. He's alienated long-time fans who refuse to turn a blind eye to his on-court and off-court antics. Many of those 'in the know' who still attend USM basketball games do so with the full knowledge that the coach is not the caliber that USM deserves.
You're exactly the kind of fan who thinks the Van Arnold column in today's paper is A-OK. Win at all costs. Use whatever means necessary to achieve your goal of winning, even if student athletes are the casualties of that activity.
USM used to have good athletics programs. Now those programs have fallen into the grips of know-it-all know-nothings like you.
I know that you must lose sleep at night thinking of more ways to whine & complain on this message board. I can also guarantee that I know as much, if not more, about the game of basketball than you. After all, I DID stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
"Violently resist"...you're stretching it a bit on that one as well, Butter Boy

Yes, I will simply take the undocumented ramblings of an anonymous internet poster as fact. I believe you! You're a veritable human basketball encyclopedia! Whatever.
Go back over to EagleTalk and join the big prayer circle that USM doesn't go 0-for the greater Forrest/Lamar Counties Area in recruiting like it usually does. If all of those big-time locals go to better programs like FSU, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, SE Louisiana, and Memphis, Hattiesburg really will be the 'Hub City'--It will be the city that is a Hub for SEC schools' private planes.
