This is a very nice article. As a parent shocked by the high price of college, let me also add that I want my money's worth. I want my kids to enjoy their classes and professors. I want them to have a passion for the subjects AND I want them to learn.
What a wonderful tribute. I have no doubt that 99.9% of the faculty leave their problems with SFT and minions behind when they enter the classroom.
One message to students I would like to bring: you may think a teacher is boring, but don't let that turn you off from what that professor has to offer. Being a charismatic lecturer or leading a hot discussion does not characterize all fine teachers. There are those who have much to offer. You just have to move toward it.
